Wildcat Football information:
Our regular season is typically 8 games, followed by playoffs (for those teams that qualify).  Playoffs begin Mid-Late November extending for 2 weeks.

Game schedules:
Team schedules will be made available approximately the 3rd week of practice.  Most games are played on Saturdays.  However, teams may play weekday evening games in the event of inclement weather.  In the case of game cancellations, SMYAC will notify the respective teams about rescheduling.  Note—no games will be scheduled during Labor Day weekend.

Practice:
Players will be evaluated by Head Coaches and staff during the initial days of practice to determine placement on a Senior or Junior team. However, not all weight divisions may have both Senior and Junior teams; it is dependent on the number of registered players.
Practices will start on August 1st at Dorsey Park.
Practices typically will run Monday thru Thursday from 6PM to 8PM.
Once school starts our practices will reduce to 3 nights.
At the first night of practice the entire organization will gather for a few minutes to discuss the upcoming season. This first night of practice will be held in shorts, T-shirts and cleats only (tennis shoes for those that haven’t purchased cleats yet).  Your respective coaches will provide further guidance on which equipment to wear later in the week.

Football Equipment:
If you did not receive equipment at the time of our fittings TBD, we will have a limited supply of equipment available at Dorsey during the first weeks of practice.
Note—Players must return all issued equipment at the end of the season.  Failure to do so will result in the Wildcats charging parents/guardians a replacement fee for each item not returned.
